Serving At CBC

Here at CBC, our mission is to make disciples by living, loving, and proclaiming the gospel both within with our community of faith and to our world. One of the greatest expressions of the power of the gospel in our lives is our service for Christ in love for one another. As Paul commended the Colossians, "We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, because of the hope laid up for you in heaven (1:3-5a)." Out of this type of gospel-centered service is the overflow of discipleship, serving those in and outside the church. One of the ways we pursue and live out this discipleship trait is through volunteer opportunities.

Serving Our Children

CBC seeks to train up our children in the gospel of Christ and His sufficiency for all of life. We do this through the avenues of Kids Church, Sunday School, and AWANA. Teachers and helpers seek to instill in our children a desire to study the Word of God for themselves and to love Jesus for all that He has done.

Serving Our Youth

Our youth are confronted with many issues, choices, worldviews, and moral dilemmas. At CBC, we seek to minister to our teenagers by equipping them for a live built upon the foundation of the gospel and centrality of Christ in all things. Only a life lived for His Kingdom and grounded in the Word of God will truly matter and serve as a gauge through all of life's choices.

Serving Our Church Body

At CBC, we are blessed with a congregation consisting of all ages (infant to elderly). I Corinthians 12 tells us that we all have our unique place in the body of Christ functioning together and building one another up for the work of Christ. We view everyone as important to this work that He has given us. Whether it be serving on one of our church teams, getting involved in outreach projects, or plugging into the life and ministry of our church, opportunities abound to serve Him together in the work to which He has called us.

Serving Our Community

It is not enough to show the love of Jesus to our church body. We desire to show the love of Jesus to those around us by being His hands and feet in our community. This may involve blessing our neighborhoods with particular events, meeting particular needs, or simply lending a helping hand. Whatever the situation, our desire is for all men, women, and children to know the love of Jesus in both word and deed.
