Here at Covington Baptist Church, we seek to minister together for the sake of the gospel and its power in each individual life. No matter where you come from, what your economic background is, or at what stage of life you find yourself, we desire to equip you for the ministry that God has called you to through Jesus Christ. He is the reason we live, minister, and serve. The various ministries of our church will help you connect and find your place in the life of our church. Below are a few of those ministries.

Connection Groups

Our Connection Groups are small groups that meet in several homes throughout our community once a week for fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. Our small groups are "sermon based" which means we seek to discuss and live out the truths that we learn on Sunday morning. If we, as the church, are really going to accomplish our mission of "living, loving, and proclaiming the gospel" then we know that Biblical community and discipleship are a must. We would love to have you be a part of one of our Connection Groups!

Core Classes

On designated Sunday, after our morning worship service, we offer several Bible study classes. This is an interactive time that allows you to get deeper into the study of the Bible and pertinent spiritual themes, as well as providing an opportunity to get to know others in a smaller group setting. Great relationships are built around this time and key questions are answered that will help you on your spiritual journey. Classes begin at 11:30 and end at 12:15 pm.

Kids Ministry

During our morning worship service, we offer your children (3 years - 3rd grade) a time where they can connect with God through music, Bible memory, fun Bible stories, exciting activities and life lessons that relate to their age and stage of life. All of our children's workers have been screened to insure the safety and protection of your children. We would love for you to have your child be a part of the excitement! Kids then divide into age appropriate groups (3 years - 6th grade) when Core Classes are in session from 11:15-12:15 to dive deeper into the big picture idea for the day.

AWANA

Our AWANA clubs program is an exciting program that focuses on Scripture memory for children. Each night, your child will compete in fun group games, hear Bible stories, recite Bible memory verses, earn club awards, get to know many other children, and much more! Don't let your child miss out on the fun! Our Awana Club is for children from three years old through 6th grade. We meet on Wednesday nights from 5:50-7:45. Parents are welcome to come watch or to drop your children off at the church.

The ROCK: Youth Group

The goal for the youth at CBC is to see them develop as mature Christian adults and committed church members. Our youth ministry has 3 key focuses: Equipping parents to disciple their teens, equipping the church for intergenerational discipleship, and equipping teens through age relevant teaching, service, and biblical community. Each of our gatherings and activities seeks to focus on 1 or more of these 3 focuses. Here is a little about our youth program:

  • Sunday Evening: Our teens meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month from 5:45-7:30 pm to connect with each other through small group discussion, games, music, snacks, and prayer.
  • Sunday Morning (when Core Classes are in session): From 11:30-12:15 pm, our teens gather in The ROCK for topic focused study from a biblical perspective. Classes include: Basic Bible Study, Doctrine of God, Biblical Sexuality, Gospel-Centered Living, and more.
  • Ministry/Activity Opportunities: Our teens can be involved in our church and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ in many ways. We love for them to serve with their gifts and abilities in our morning worship services through music, technology, etc. We also provide our teens with memorable experiences such as Christian summer camp, Missions trips and fun local activities throughout the year.

"And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:11-13
