Here at Covington Baptist Church, we seek to minister together for the sake of the gospel and its power in each individual life. No matter where you come from, what your economic background is, or at what stage of life you find yourself, we desire to equip you for the ministry that God has called you to through Jesus Christ. He is the reason we live, minister, and serve. The various ministries of our church will help you connect and find your place in the life of our church. Below are a few of those ministries.
Our Connection Groups are small groups that meet in several homes throughout our community once a week for fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. Our small groups are "sermon based" which means we seek to discuss and live out the truths that we learn on Sunday morning. If we, as the church, are really going to accomplish our mission of "living, loving, and proclaiming the gospel" then we know that Biblical community and discipleship are a must. We would love to have you be a part of one of our Connection Groups!
Each Sunday, after our morning worship service, we offer several Bible study classes. This is an interactive time that allows you to get deeper into the study of the Bible and pertinent spiritual themes, as well as providing an opportunity to get to know others in a smaller group setting. Great relationships are built around this time and key questions are answered that will help you on your spiritual journey. All of our classes are currently studying Gospel-centered Life, which invites us to dive deeply into God’s story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Classes begin at 11:15 and end at noon.
MOPS is a place for women to find support and friendship as we take on mothering together. MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and any mom with a child under the age of 6 is welcome to attend. At MOPS you will quickly learn you’re not alone. It is a place to find support, encouragement, advice, and friendship in a relaxed atmosphere. MOPS meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month during the school year from 9:00 am until 11:30am. Childcare is provided. For more information, check out our Covington MOPS Facebook page.
During our morning worship service, we offer your children a time where they can connect with God through music, Bible memory, fun Bible stories, exciting activities and life lessons that relate to their age and stage of life. All of our children's workers have been screened to insure the safety and protection of your children. We would love for you to have your child be a part of the excitement! Groups are available for children ages three to 6th grade. Kids then divide into age appropriate small groups during Adult Bible Fellowship from 11:15-noon to dive deeper into the big picture idea for the day.
Our AWANA clubs program is an exciting program that focuses on Scripture memory for children. Each night, your child will compete in fun group games, hear Bible stories, recite Bible memory verses, earn club awards, get to know many other children, and much more! Don't let your child miss out on the fun! Our Awana Club is for children from two years old through 6th grade. We meet on Wednesday nights from 5:50-7:45. Parents are welcome to come watch or to drop your children off at the church.
We have a great group of teens who have a love for God and for each other. Our youth group is not just content to sit in their own comfort zones, but reaches out to others in our community to share the love of Jesus. Here is a little about our youth program:
- Sunday Morning Bible Study: From 11:15-noon, our teens gather together to study the Bible in The ROCK. It's is a great time of interaction and spiritual growth. We are currently studying, The Gospel Project. Click HERE for more info!
- Sunday Evening Youth Group: From 5:45-7:30 pm, our teens meet to connect with each other through action-packed games, music, snacks, and a message from the Bible.
- Ministry/Activity Opportunities: Our teens can be involved in our church and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ in many ways. We love for them to serve with their gifts and abilities in our morning worship services through music, technology, etc. We also provide our teens with memorable experiences such as Christian summer camp, Missions trips and fun local activities throughout the year.

"And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:11-13
